Built from conviction, not a business plan.
The idea took shape in 2020, after fifteen years inside the talent industry watching capable people lose to broken process. Career Innovator was formed in 2021 to prove a better model was possible. Everything since was earned, not planned, referral by referral, result by result.
The people behind the work.
Every engagement is led by someone who has sat in the rooms you're navigating. No hand-offs, no coordinators, no scaling by adding bodies.

Julie Olson Huffman
Julie spent fifteen years watching organizations lean on rigid, process-heavy approaches that forgot the people inside them, and she built Career Innovator to change that. A former Fortune 100 executive, SIA 40 Under 40, and the architect behind more than $50MM in PE-backed ventures, she brings rare credibility to both sides of the talent equation, to the clients hiring and the candidates being hired. She leads Search and sets the standard every client relationship CI holds is measured against.

Brennon Huffman
At ManpowerGroup, one of the three largest staffing and recruiting companies in the world, Brennon ran multiple P&Ls exceeding $150MM in ARR and led vertically integrated teams across sales, marketing, operations, and recruiting, responsible for deploying thousands of consultants into the field. That operating experience means he knows what great actually looks like from the inside. He leads Strategy, Advisory, and Development at CI, and is often the first call when a client's challenge is harder to name than it is to feel.

Laura Peeples
Laura brings twenty years of enterprise workforce strategy to CI, the kind that comes from sitting across the table from CIOs, CTOs, and CHROs at IBM, Accenture, Microsoft, and Bank of America and solving problems with no off-the-shelf answers. She has led engagements across 20+ countries, scaled organizations by 200+ professionals, and delivered 20 to 30% cost savings for global clients. At CI she leads client partnerships, holding every engagement to the clarity and rigor that moves the business.

Karen Dryer
Karen spent six years leading talent acquisition inside Impellam Group, rebuilding internal hiring across its North American staffing brands, from ATS and HRIS to governance, and lifting internal mobility 40 percent across the US and UK. That vantage, years on the buyer's side of the table, taught her exactly where agencies lose the plot and how rare it is to find one that treats the work as more than a transaction. At CI she leads search with the process rigor most firms only promise.

Meredith Abbott
Meredith spent her career recruiting where the stakes are highest, leading talent acquisition across every unit of Cubic Defense from RF hardware to the C-suite, and holding a fifty-day time-to-fill in a clearance-heavy, ITAR-governed environment. As the person accountable for those hires, she learned what separates a search partner worth keeping from one worth replacing, on searches whose leaders went on to anchor more than $80M in revenue. At CI she leads engineering and cleared-talent search, the hard-to-fill technical roles most firms can't reach.
